Bosch GWX 18 V-10 PC X Lock 18v Cordless Angle Grinder 125mm

Part of the Bosch X Lock range of grinders and accessories, the GWX 18 V-10 PC is a very similar machine to the GWX 18 V-10 C, except it is fitted with a PROtection paddle-style switch rather than the slide-switch found on the alternative model. Like the GWX 18 V-10 C it is equipped with a whole host of features including a tool-free X Lock interface, brushless motor, kickback control, drop control, X-brake, restart protection, an anti-vibration handle and a Connection Ready expansion port for installating a Bluetooth module to access additional control parameters, usage data and inventory management facilities.

Starting with the X Lock interface, the GWX 18 V-10 PC is designed for use with Bosch X Lock accessories, which have an X-shaped bore and are securely locked onto the machine simply by pushing them down into the X-Lock mechanism, or released by unlocking them with a switch. There is no need for additional tools and detachable components, everything you need to change accessories is built into the machine itself. X Lock accessories cannot be mounted improperly and an audible click lets you know once everything is securely locked into place and ready for use.

The X Lock system helps to ensure operation is fast and frustration-free, but the GWX 18 V-10 PC also has an impressive list of safety features. An anti-vibration handle minimises the exposure to harmful levels of vibration througout the working day while ensuring a firm grip on the tool, and the anti-rotation protective guard is designed to withstand effects of a disc burst while shielding the operator from sparks, debris and spinning accessories. A Kickback Control system automatically shuts down the tool if it detects binding conditions, and likewise the Drop Control system (a feature that is currently exclusive to Bosch Professional grinders) shuts off the motor if it detects the machine has been dropped. Additionally, the PROtection paddle switch instantly cuts power as soon as the operator releases their grip on the machine. The Bosch X-Brake guarantees rapid stops and remains functional even in the event of a loss of power to the tool, while restart protection means that the switch cannot remain 'On' while power is out (eg if a battery is depleted). It must be reset once power is restored, and prevents a live machine from starting up unexpectedly.

The GWX 18 V-10 PC is compatible with a wide variety of Bosch Professional 18v li-ion batteries, including those from the new ProCORE range. To ensure downtime is kept to a minimum, it is equipped with an energy efficient brushless motor which drains batteries much slower than conventional brushed motors and gets more work done per charge, especially when combined with the newer high capacity batteries.

Lastly, the grinder is Connection Ready, meaning it can be fitted with a Bluetooth chip for connection with a smart device like a phone or tablet. This enables the operator to view usage data, access control parameters and track the tool for inventory management purposes.
