The DeWalt 18V XR Cordless Twin Battery and Fast Charger Pack provides a practical solution for tradespeople who need sustained cordless power throughout the working day.
This kit pairs two DCB184 5.0Ah XR Li-ion batteries with a DCB118 fan-cooled fast charger, giving contractors the ability to keep one battery in use while the other charges. The DCB118 charger will fully recharge a 5.0Ah battery in approximately 50 minutes, minimising downtime on site. It also supports DeWalt's 54V Flexvolt batteries, making it a versatile charging solution for those running tools across both platforms.
Both batteries are compatible with the full range of DeWalt 18V XR cordless tools, making this pack a straightforward upgrade or starting point for any 18V XR kit. The 5.0Ah capacity delivers 66% more runtime than a 3.0Ah battery, while matching the size and weight of the 4.0Ah pack — useful where weight and balance on tools matters during extended use. Built-in protection against overheating, overloading, and deep discharge helps prolong battery life on site.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
