I recently purchased this product to work in conjunction with a Firebox Stove. This saw is perfect for processing small to medium quantities of 4" (100mm) logs with ease, which is ideal for my purpose. It's well built, compact, comfortable and easily assembled and taken down for packing away after use requiring no tools. I have put the saw to work about 10 times to date and have no issues to comment on. Very well pleased with my purchase and would recommend to anyone with similar needs. I have tried to be balanced and fair in my review. Whilst I am overall very happy with thus saw, I've awarded 3 stars for Value For Money as I feel that it is seriously overpriced and with safety in mind, a star has been deducted because there's no guard at the handle to protect knuckles. Even though overpriced and no guard, I bought the saw because the build quality is good, and because I shall be using it regularly and expect it to withstand a lot of wear and tear. I found the saw easy to unfold and assemble. (I read one review that said that it was complicated to assemble. A little patience and practice and you could assemble it blindfold. It's not at complicated). The saw comes supplied with a 12" blade. The Gerber replacement blades are also pricy, but good quality generic 12" blades can be bought if price of replacement blades is a deal breaker. I am able to store 2 spare blades in the saw frame. Previously I had been using a lalpland penknife saw which also cuts really well. However, this Gerber saw requires much less effort and is faster to saw with than the lalpland saw. Performance of the Gerber saw was excellent, and I did manage to saw a 4' diameter hardwood log by rotating the log. But a 4" log is testing the saw to its limit. This saw works really well when used correctly. I've seen and read of the saw getting jammed in a log, which is not the fault of the saw but rather the incorrect placement of log for sawung. The portion of the law being sawn should extend beyond any supporting rock or log. This will allow the natural weight of the log being sawn, to open the gap created by the saw whilst sawing. By setting up the log correctly the saw works almost effortlessly without becoming jammed. This can be further improved by spraying the saw blade with a little WD40 or rubbing a candle on the blade to reduce friction when sawing. When the blade is tensioned it feels solid when sawing without bending the blade. This saw is the perfect size for my rucksack which can also hold 40kg of hardwood logs. So, it's perfect for foraging and camping. I highly recommend this saw, even though it is overpriced. The saw has already paid for itself. The only negative would be the absence of a guard to protect your knuckles, particularly if you have big hands. Having said that I've managed to avoid grazing my knuckles when sawing 4" logs by gripping the handle slightly higher and a slightly shorter movement of the blade when nearing the end of the cut. Since making this small change to my sawing I've had no more grazed knuckles. I also wear a fingerless glove for added protection.

Great bit of kit perfect for 3 to 4 inch bows of wood. Folds down well and feels solid with a secure hand grip. Top Job.
