The Makita BL4050F is a 40v Max XGT high output cordless battery delivering 5ah capacity, designed for demanding power tools and continuous operations. This professional-grade lithium-ion battery is fully compatible with all devices in the Makita 40v Max XGT system, making it ideal for tradespeople working with multiple cordless tools on the same platform.
Specifically developed for large and power-intensive machines, this battery excels when powering SDS Max hammers, angle grinders and garden machinery where sustained performance is essential. The robust construction features a splash-resistant design that withstands harsh environmental conditions including water and dust exposure, making it suitable for outdoor applications and challenging job sites.
An integrated cooling system maximises battery life by managing operating temperatures during extended use, whilst digital communication between the battery and charger optimises the charging process. The 4 LED fuel gauge with check button allows quick monitoring of remaining charge, helping tradespeople plan their workday effectively. When paired with the DC40RA Fast Charger (sold separately), the battery achieves a full charge in approximately 50 minutes, minimising downtime between jobs.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.

A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
