Makita UC029G 40v Max XGT Cordless Brushless Pruning Saw 150mm
The Makita UC029G is a compact 40v cordless pruning saw designed for efficient branch cutting and tree maintenance work. Part of Makita's XGT battery platform, this lightweight chainsaw features a 150mm bar and brushless motor technology, making it ideal for arborists, groundscare professionals and landscapers working in tight spaces amongst dense foliage.
Built with Makita's XPT eXtreme Protection Technology, the housing provides enhanced resistance to dust and moisture ingress – crucial for demanding outdoor environments. The brushless motor delivers powerful, maintenance-free performance whilst keeping the overall weight to just 1.3kg (bare tool), reducing operator fatigue during extended pruning sessions overhead or in awkward positions.
Safety features include an electric brake that stops the chain immediately when the trigger is released, a rear hand guard for protection, and a hinged top chain guard that moves freely to allow full depth of cut through branches. Tool-free chain tensioning and removal simplifies maintenance in the field, whilst the automatic lubrication system ensures consistent chain performance. Chain oil is included with the saw.
The UC029G is supplied in a Makpac Type 4 carry case with protective bar cover, making it easy to transport between job sites and store safely alongside other Makita XGT tools. Compatible with all 40v XGT batteries, this pruning saw integrates seamlessly into existing Makita cordless systems.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
