The Makita UH023G 40v XGT Cordless Brushless Mini Hedge Trimmer is a compact shrub shear designed for precision trimming, topiary work and detailed shaping tasks in professional landscaping and grounds maintenance.
Powered by Makita's 40v XGT battery platform, the UH023G combines a brushless motor with a 200mm blade running at 3,600 strokes per minute to deliver clean, efficient cutting results on shrubs, ornamental plants and hedges. The slim 80mm body and lightweight design — from just 1.8kg with battery fitted — provide excellent control and manoeuvrability in confined spaces where larger hedge trimmers cannot practically be used.
Built for demanding outdoor conditions, the UH023G carries an IPX4 rating through Makita's eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT), offering enhanced resistance to dust and water ingress. An electric brake brings the blade to a rapid stop when the trigger is released, improving both safety and productivity on site. The battery protection circuit guards against overload, over-discharge and overheating to extend the tool's service life.
With a continuous runtime of up to 180 minutes from a 2.5Ah battery, this cordless shrub shear is well suited to extended use across professional landscaping jobs, estate maintenance and decorative garden work.

The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
