This is an easy to use, well balanced strimmer. As it is designed to use the Ryobi One + battery system it is also easy to keep a ready charged battery to hand. The seller was very prompt and efficient in the way my order was dealt with, as were the details of my order delivery progress. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this as I already had the Ryobi One+ batteries from other tools. I was deliberating between this model and the slightly more expensive one, and in the end picked this as it has a higher unloaded RPM, which I figured hopefully translates to better cutting ability, plus I wasn't really bothered about the height and cutting-width adjustments on the other model. I tested it in the back garden, and I'm very pleased. I was worried about the join in the main shaft, but it is very solid once assembled, and it cut almost continuously through 4-5" grass for 15 minutes without running out of juice on a freshly-charged 1.3Ah battery, so the longevity is fine for me. I can see why people complain about the auto-feeding line, but it seems fine if you just keep it running. One slight annoyance is that when you twist the strimmer head around for edging, it isn't vertical in a normal standing position (I'm 6'), so the tendency is to cut inwards when edging, rather than straight down, i.e. the line wants to undercut the grass at the edge, which tends to leave strim marks all down the soil edge of the lawn. I'm sure this improves with practice, but I noticed that the next model up has a variable tilt on the strimmer head, which I guess would mean this isn't an issue. In conclusion: a good value-for-money strimmer for those who already own a One+ battery.
