I've had this for years. Great to use initially and after a while you can become adept at getting big logs into it one handed. The simplest ideas are always the best ones and this one is great.

The smart holder log saw horse pretty much does what it is sold to do (hold logs!) but i've had a couple of issues with it. It feels sturdy yet is light enough to carry across a field to where you are working, but it is a little too light to hold long logs. I've had it start tipping when you apply a chainsaw to the log. I now put a weight (bag of sand) on the bottom of the frame. also, because the log is held in one spot only, logs are prone to rotate in the jaws, ie be pulled towards or away from you when you apply a chainsaw. Lowering the upper gripper so it holds the top of the log further back helps, but expect to sometimes have to steady the log as you cut. it is certainly better and safer than cutting wood without a saw horse, once a log is in it you do not have to move it again so cutting it up is swift and i do use it quite a bit, but maybe a traditional saw horse is a better option.

I have only used it a couple of times but it performed well. As a fabrication engineer myself the build quality is very good and it is designed to perform and last.

Very easy to use, comes virtually ready assembled, small branches or lengthy, chunky logs easy to saw with hand saw or chain saw. Folds away flat in 10 seconds.When used with my chainsaw makes the job a doddle, all at a nice height to work with and i would advise anyone wishing to saw logs of all sizes to buy it. I looked at other types of saw horses before buying this one, i made the right choice !

Having recently cut 4 trees down i had a lot of wood to log. i found that this piece of equipment worked extremely well, saved a lot of back ache, as well as allowing me to work safely. the saw horse is very easy to carry to the cutting site and very easy to erect. a really useful piece of equipment, beautifully made. if you have logs to cut using chain saw then this will assist you safely.
