Initial impressions very favourable. Sharp cutter, works well despite 2M length. Reasonably lightweight given robust design. The grabber mechanism is efficient, once one has mastered the rotation. Very pleased we bought this. Could be improved further if it came with some simple set-up instructions. It took me a little while to realise the telescopic control allows only three positions, and the cutter will not work until the extension clicks into place. Obvious once you know how. The lifetime guarantee is a good sign, and given the quality, I hope not to have to activate this. Rapid delivery (next working day) by DHL. Overall a very good experience.

Like all The ARS tools I have bought so far: really well made, a blade cover included, and comprehensive parts information in the box. Tested it on pruning a hurtling great grape vine in a tight space. Grab n’ hold really useful; just drop it in the bag straight from the tool. I have used cheaper version by another manufacturer and that lasted two years before the mechanism broke. That one had a spring on the cutting head that often got caught in vegetation. The ARS has a ‘clean’ head with just the blades showing. It also has a small branch hook, which is a bonus.

High quality made in Japan, I don't have to say no more, well built tool from ARS japan, happy I bought it.

Like them very much, but note that they don't have the strength to nip off old wood - they cut this year's growth well, and some of last years. But you need something more robust for older stuff.

This product may seem pricey but it is a very good quality, high spec product. It has made the annual end of summer pruning of our ornamental crab apple tree a much easier and safer process (we previously used a weighty, awkward string pulley type of lopper - which was heavy, cumbersome and tiring to use). Nice and light and easily maneuverable in tricky places, and the hold facility is a real bonus. A pleasure to use.
