Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Chainsaws
Always make sure your oil is topped up & your chain is tensioned correctly. This will ensure your chain life is extended & more importantly is operating safely.
Remember Chainsaws are dangerous. Do not attempt to use one if you have not fully read the instructions, are confident in the correct use & have adequate safety equipment & clothing.

Very disappointed as the run time is about 15 minutes and this is with soft wood. Would have preferred my money back but the supplier stepped back and said nothing to do with us as this is a technical issue--contact B&D under warranty. B&D suggested charging and re-charging may increase run time. So far there is little improvement. B&D have offered to have the product tested by its warranty agent. The problem is that performance data is difficult to translate into reality. It may be that I expect too much based on sales advertising hype. However other reviewers seem pleased. My use is domestic and have used chainsaws for decades. My ten year old Bosch cable chainsaw has amazing performance but the cable is always a problem--especially up a tree! I also have a B&D battery hedge trimmer which is fantastic---I am worn out before the battery discharges. Welcome any feed back as it seems I may be stuck with a very expensive mistake.

Q : Hi, I have a 36V lithium battery (code BL1336) and charger are these compatible with this chainsaw?
A : Hi Robin, yes the BL1336 is an older model which has been discontinued and replaced with the BL20362, but it can still be used with the current generation of Black & Decker 36v lithium tools (so it will power this chainsaw no problem)
Q : Does this chain saw come already filled with oil.
A : Hi Jean, chain oil is not included so you will probably want to purchase some at the same time if you don't already have some.
Q : I have an older B&D strimmer with a 36v lion rechargeable battery similar to this. It is a BL2036 battery not BL20362. Is this interchangeable with this chainsaw?
A : I can confirm that your Black and Decker 36v Li-ion battery will be compatible with this chainsaw.
