Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.

I bought this charger as a replacement as original had developed a fault with the circuit board. It has been updated and looks slightly different but works as expected. It was priced competitively and delivery was very quick -next day.

The product is a very efficient 36v charger and has been an excellent replacement for my old one. However, the picture on Amazon website is of my old model, hence the purchase. The new one looks completely different. I was obviously delighted that it works fine but was initially confused that the wrong one had been sent. Some explanation to this might avert any future confusion.

Q : Is this charger a newer version of the one with 4 prongs? It has the same model number as my charger but looks quite different. Will it work with my batteries?

Q : Will this charger work with a 36 v 2.0 Ah li-lon Bosch battery ?
A : Good morning, I can confirm that this charger is compatible with all Bosch Garden 36v batteries.
Q : Can you confirm that the info on the warranty link at the bottom of the page is correct for this charger, which says 3 years. Another supplier of the same charger quotes 1 year for Bosch branded batteries and chargers. My original has failed after 26 months and probably no more than 30 charges, which I consider very poor. Thank you
A : Hi John, apologies but we had the wrong info on there (I've now amended it). I checked with Bosch to make sure and they've confirmed that their home and garden battery chargers are covered by a two year warranty. While the tools can be extended to three years by registering them, the warranty for chargers can't be extended and so is fixed at two years. The batteries themselves are covered by a one year warranty which probably explains the info you've seen elsewhere.So batteries - one year. Chargers - two years. Tools - three years (when registered with Bosch).
Q : I have a Rotak 36 LI lawn mower and my charger has packed up does the new AL 3620 work on my battery my lawnmower is about 5 years old Thanks Steve
A : Hi Steve, yes - although there have been a few cosmetic changes to the chargers and batteries over the years, they are all still interchangeable with each other and this newer charger will charge all the past and present Bosch 36v garden batteries
Q : Does this charger have a standard uk plug
A : Hi Sheila, yes this Bosch 36v charger will be supplied with a standard UK mains plug attached to it
Q : the red light on the charger is flashing should it be steady ? and light on the back of the battery stopped working when on charge , can anyone help before I contact Bosch as it is only a few months old
A : Hi Roy, a flashing red light implies the charger can't read the battery so assuming it's making a positive connection it sounds like the battery has developed some kind of fault I'm afraid, though if you speak to Bosch they should be able to troubleshoot your issue a bit more thoroughly
Q : Is this compatible with the Bosch Bosch ROTAK 37 LI?
A : I can confirm that this charger is compatible with all Bosch Garden 36v batteries.
Q : Is this item suitable for the Bosch Rotak 32 li & Rotak 43 Li?
A : I can confirm that the Bosch Rotak 32li and 43li are 36v machines and the 36v garden batteries are compatible with this charger.
