Fiskars UP86 Telescopic Universal Tree Pruner and Loppers

The product is OK, not quite what I had imagined or had in mind but it performs the job. There are no instructions, nothing to tell you what you should or shouldnt be doing. I learnt the hard way and pinched the skin on my hand quite badly with the base of the unit. Bit disappointed with the service too as the other item I ordered was not available but it took weeks for anybody to tell me that. They didnt even do that to be fair, just sent me an email saying it had been cancelled at my request!

I had previously owned a Fiskar tree lopper, which I found easy to use. However having bought this model I hadn't appreciated just how much heavier this model this is compared to the model that does not have the extension I am in my early 70's and go to the gym twice a week so reasonably fit. I doubt if anyone with say a bad back it would be impossible to use. In all honesty, had I bought the product at a hardware store I would have returned it without opening and using it

Too top heavy to use extended and a nuisance to have to change the cable which looks complicated on youtube! Well made and probably for tall strong men (although I am pretty tough) I think practice may make perfect but I'm waiting for the blister on my palm to heal first.

I purchased this pruner for my husband last year ,he used it last week for the first time and the spring popped out it is useless and at a price of almost £90 there must be a manufacturing fault for several people to say there's has also broke.Do they ever read these reviews or just turn a blind eye.

I recently bought these telescopic loppers. They were excellent for lopping short branches at height and the telescopic part worked well too. I was very pleased with them and they would have had a very good review. But they failed in just over a month and they had only been used a few times. I had to return them to the shop from which i bought them. The blade would not move from the closed position even though it had missed the stem to be cut. Once i managed to get the blade open it would not close again when the cord was pulled. I suspect the actual mechanism failed for some reason. I was using them to lop some climbing roses with stems under half an inch thick at the time. As they were under guarantee the shop would have changed them, but they did not have another pair. Disappointing. Not much else to say really.
