I looked at this log splitter and could not believe it could work. I checked it out on all sites i could and watched videos of it in action. Finally i ordered it. Delivery was quick and when it was promised. Unwrapped and set up splitter, instructions good and not much to do, all tools supplied even 20mm wood drill. Finding a large flat bottomed log to mount it on was the most difficult. But when i tried it it worked, and again and again. Yes it needs you to expend energy throwing the weight down onto the cutter and log but it works, tried on pine, laurel, ivy and birch, wet or dry logs!!

Taking the log splitter from the box, i was impressed by the weight & the build quality of the item. As long as you have a good base to fit the pole into, putting the splitter together is easy. I was impressed right from the start, splitting logs took much less effort than swinging an axe - & much safer! The tool is capable of splitting very large sections & does all the work i had hoped for. Do yourself a favour, put away that axe & get one of these.

Got the splitter today. came with drill bit and spanner only needed a drill and the log to set it in. so basic to fit only the first two holes were not vertical, (human error) splits dry logs just great, remember to lift the weight the full height and "throw it down"

Most difficult thing about siting and using this device is finding, positioning and preparing a suitable height & size log or base in which to insert the device. Should have thought about that before felling all the trees so low to the ground as a conveniently sited tree stump on which to work would have been much more stable and easy to use. However once set up and assembled it is simplicity to use and gets maximum amount of logs split with the minimum amount of effort in the available time. Much easier in many respects than using a hydraulic log-splitter or a maul.
