This pruner really is of professional quality, even it is full extension it will cut through a 3in branch. i at first was a little unsure when cutting my first branch at over 5 metres but just step back slightly from being directly under the branch and with an up and down stroke it saws through branches without moving either side of the first cut. the blade is so well designed you can saw branches off without even looking up!! (till you hear it crack then its time to get out of the way)

It's a great tool, makes the job of pruning or cutting down a tree much easier, once the technique to maintain it in position is grasped it will rip through 100mm plus, only concern is the tube is a bit delicate, the slightest knock will make it difficult to extend or compress the pole

Really useful piece of kit if you have tall trees and like me dont particularly like heights. Very well made and the blade is incredibly sharp which is just as well as applying any real pressure to the blade is difficult at maximum extension. Managed to cut through a 4inch branch on my willow with relative ease at 4 metres. It has a simple but well thought out system for securing the blade to the pole which prevents accidental release. Comes with a small handle to convert to a hand saw which again is great. It is that sharp it slices through almost anything with a few strokes.

Arrived promptly and very well packaged. Prior to purchase i was unsure how well you could saw at the end of a 4m pole but in practice there is no problem. As another reviewer commented, thinner branches are easier to cut with a lopper as they move with the saw action but above 25mm the saw is fine. Overall i am extremely pleased with the purchase, it is a high quality product and does the job!

The tool arrived in good time and is very well made. I have cut down quite a few 2-3 inches thick branches of my red cherry tree with ease. In fact, the thicker the branch, the easier it is to cut as it tends not to sway while you saw hence offering a good leverage for the sawing action. The plaster blade sheath can be made a bit stronger and easier to remove and cover the extremely sharp arched shape blade. You have to be very careful when removing and replacing the blade sheath as it is not very easy to snap it back after use.
